Luke Donald disappoints himself

Due to the storm that erupted suddenly in the midst of the Malaysian Open, the world number 3 Luke Donald could not make the cut as the event had to be reduced to 54 holes. After finishing at one-over-par 73 he felt equally disappointed as his fans did. But this is not going to bother him for the Masters that starts in Augusta on April 11 because this is one big event he is looking up to and would go to any length to get it right. Luckily, he has a couple of weeks in his hand when he can practice as much s he can and get prepared for the best.

At the Malaysian Open, in Kuala Lumpur although Luke Donald got a chance in the second round after he opened his round with a two-over 74 but missed the cut after ding a double bogey seven on the par-five 10th. He is considered to be one of the most dependable putters when it comes to world golf and he too felt the need because he required 34 putts in the second round of the Malaysian Open. He had been just two shots away from the lead with 14 holes needed from the third round. He speculated that the difference in the greens with which he is not acquainted is the reason behind his performing poorly. He analyzed that they were a little slower and he could not adapt to them. He also blamed that the courses were too narrow.

Lately, things are not going right for the Englishman golfer Luke Donald. He could not practise much after coming back from Tampa Bay Championship in Florida. He first won as a professional at the 2008 USPGA Championship at Oakland Hills.

Mixed Situations

After the end of WGC-Cadillac Championship, Donald Trump has decided to go for a complete overhaul and the process would begin from Monday onwards. The matter was brought to his notice by none other than the world no. 3 golfer Luke Donald who played pretty wild in the championship. He made double bogey at every day of the championship on the par-four No.18 at Blue Monster. But he is yet to enjoy the benefits and the renovations. And the possibility for a complete change in the No.18 has been turned down b y Donald Trump who said that he would not change it ‘significantly’.

Things are not going quite well for Luke Donald. Recently, he was part of one of the biggest losses at the Accenture Match Play Championship in Tucson. World no. 37 Scott Piercy, a man who is not that well-known in the golf circuit surprised him with 7&6. Being a winner in this tournament in 2011, Luke was regarded as one of the favorites in the match alongside Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods. The low-profiled Piercy made a shot for six under par 30 and nailed it. Luke Donald said, “Scott played very well, I played just very average.”

It was beyond Luke’s expectation that he would be beaten by Scott. He had just returned from a long winter vacation and before that he had defeated the German Marcel Siem by making two birdies hat earned him the winning points. So he ought to show his fresh skills but it went completely out of hand.

Hence it is quite obvious that after the WGC-Cadillac Championship, he would definitely want to improve upon his skills in every way he can. But it is up to Trump whether he would consider the appeal made by Donald.

Donald extends contract with Mizuno

World number three in golf Luke Donald has extended his contract with club makers Mizuno, which will see the Englishman use the clubs from the Japanese manufacturers for the next couple of years. Donald is well known for his amazing skills as an iron and wedge player and he regularly provides the engineers at Mizuno with valuable and extremely significant feedback which helps them develop newer products with those specifications. Mizuno, which crafts all its golfing equipments at its plant in Hiroshima in Japan, is known for the quality and precision that is favored by shot makers such as Luke Donald. The Englishman was first spotted by Mizuno representatives during his time at Northwestern University and was signed by the Japanese company as a brand ambassador back in 2003 after which he has managed to record 13 wins, all using equipment supplied by Mizuno.
