Luke Donald sticks with Mizuno

Luke Donald didn’t declare his deal extension with his sponsor Mizuno by shooting a funny ad with fellow Mizuno golfer Charles Howell III or at an international press conference. Instead, Luke did it via a small telephone from Florida as he was preparing for the PGA Tour’s thirteenth season.

Speaking of his deal extension, Donald said that he would prefer to stick with what he knows. Luke has been with Mizuno for ten years and he has not been one of the tinker. TO Luke, Mizuno has a kind of family atmosphere. Continue reading “Luke Donald sticks with Mizuno”

Luke Donald goes for hatrick

Luke Donald, the world number two golfer, has his sight to secure a place alongside golfer Colin Montgomerie when he will compete in the BMW PGA Championship in May and more importantly, he would like to win it for a 3rd consecutive year.

Apart from Sir Nick Faldo and Colin Montgomerie, the thirty five year old English golfer is the only player to have successfully defended his title in the history of golfers’ flagship tournament when he snatched the title in a brilliant way in this year.

Now Luke is targeting to hit a magnificent treble from 23rd May to 26th May at the Wentworth Club. This feat was earlier achieved by 8 – time European No. 1 Colin Montgomerie, who won this event three times – in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

In 2011, Luke edged out his fellow countryman golfer Lee Westwood in a play – off. Last year, he successfully defended his title; snatching a 4 – stroke win that again returned him to peak of the list of world golf ranking.

In 2011, Luke Donald topped the money list in the US PGA Tour. He told that the European Tour’s flagship tournament BMW PGA Championship and to win it back to back is really special for him. It would be a huge achievement for him to go there and attempt to do what Colin Montgomerie did. This is a huge tournament on the European Tour schedule; and West Course suits his game quite well.

Matt Dearden meets Luke Donald on golf range

Matt Dearden from Cardiff is looking for some Turkish delight as well as a dream ticket to play with world class golfers like Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood at the Wentworth’s cash laden PGA Championship next year.

Thirty three year old Matt Dearden is all set to represent West Region in Titleist PGA play-offs at Antalya’s Sultan course from 10th December to 13th December and to be with an opportunity of making Wentworth as well as the European Tour’s blue riband championship, the Cardiff player has told that to be the winner at the West Region has led to a local problem back in his home in the southern part of Wales.

Matt Dearden told that long time back, he booked a family holiday to Fuerteventura, but now those dates are clashing with the play off dates. Now to avoid disappointing his daughter and wife, he would spend the spare time with them before Atalaya’s Sultan course.

This summer, Matt Dearden has centered all his concentration on West Region rather than attempting to go to a satellite tour in Europe. He may be rewarded with an invitation to Celtic Manor’s ISPS Handa Wales Open that will take place August 2013.

Matt told that it is the dream of each golfer to play at Wentworth and there were ten spots available this year. He added that he might have a good chance to go there. For him, it would be really great to play in Celtic Manor’s Wales Open as well.
