@sedge2k i play on a course that is right by the coast, the ball doesnt spin as much as the exposure to the wind dries out the greens, in the summer they can be like wood
I’m looking for a tutorial on winning a major, can you help me out Luke? Oh wait……
@gleneth yea i commented 10 months ago…i know now and i have to agree that its the players who have the ability and coaches with the techniques
@XlburrowsX How does being near the coast stop a ball spinning? Please enlighten me
@gleneth temperament is a very vital part of becoming a tour player as well. you can be a fantastic ballstriker but if you can’t keep your head on straight you will never make it. some coaches are just awful putters, too.
@rorymcilroyfan5000 well no not really the pro’s such as luke donald have coaches. some people have the knowhow, some have the ability. its a combination of using the skills of someone with knowhow training the person who has the ability. a great player doesn’t necessarily make a good coach.
i usually play the ball about the center of my stance, maybe just slightly forward and open up the face just a little. For steeper bunkers, like the practice one at my home course, you might want to play the ball even more forward in your stance.
that was way too easy.
@rorymcilroyfan5000 – Most “wanabe” players will agree, golf on the highest level is more about the mental game than anything else. You’re local golf course pro has tons of knowledge and skill, but to be tops in the world it takes more than technique and golf knowledge.
Man, I’ve been hitting bunker shots of my back foot for eons with mild success. I’ll try this – should significantly screw up my game for this season.
@XlburrowsX pfft what do you know do you even know what a links course is!?!
That would not have spun on a links course
just a bit of check there
@dschultz6072 i think you missed my sarcasm. btw, did you really need 5 lessons or power golf to come to this conclusion?
@steckleinjr i think i remember either in 5 lessons or power golf, both written many years ago, that the options play and teach are either/or. the time and effort it takes to play and practice at the tour level is way too consuming to be able to teach students as well. one must make the choice, pursue a teaching career or a playing career. those that aren’t as physically gifted or have the temperament to make it on the tour will be apt to choose to teach.
Nice skills lol, my favourite player by far. Luuuuuuuuke!!!!!
Good lord that was a nice shot
how much spin can u get?!
@gatoralley01 I dont know any golfer with a handicap under 10 that doesnt know to use the bounce of a club in the sand, so I seriously doubt any certified PGA Professionals told you to dig into the sand with the leading edge. Also, remember these are tips for a good lie in soft sand. Technique changes if it is wet or a bad lie. You have to dig out a bad or plugged lie with the leading edge, or “digger”
@rorymcilroyfan5000 so then, why would tiger woods employ harmon, haney and foley to instruct him? how come tour players DON’T employ other tour players for instruction? slight flaw in your argument, bud?
@willnicklaus12 im guessing your 50 years old? you took that rather personally. what if his coach was 35 years old?
he would hit it to a foot…
well seems like a reliable lesson ha, great tips i’m not gunna lie i’d rather hear from a tour player who has these kind of stats than anyone
rorymcilroyfan5000 how do u thinkg luke donald got taught how to hit bunker shots, from a 50 year old coach who knows more about bunker shots then luke donald, and who is also a pga proffessional.
He has the best swing on tour!
